I have recently seen online new types of yogurts made from Coconut Milk & Almond Milk. I am intrigued! I haven't tried it yet. Have any of you? I am going to also look up some recipes to try. I am sharing the ones I find with you too. So then you can let me know what you guys think. I really like this gourmet brand below called NuLait. It looks very divine, but it is only sold in NY. Maybe I can recreate it at home. I have made Almond Milk at home and it is so good that I won't buy that boxed stuff again!
Here is a great blog, Small Footprint Family, about making coconut milk yogurt. She suggests making your own fresh coconut milk so I am going to try that route because 1) I know it will taste the best. 2) it is healthier. This family orders a culture instead of making it from another yogurt from the store due to all of their allergies. Since I am not allergic, I will just use a yogurt with live cultures from the store to make it easier for me. And what's even cooler is that you can let the yogurt drain in cheesecloth afterwards to make it thicker & creamier, the leftover water is coconut water that you can use in smoothies! YUM The almond milk yogurt also sounds soooo good. You can make the fresh almond milk recipe that I have then follow the directions that I found from another great blog, Lexie's Kitchen. This is her recipe that was featured on Williams-Sonoma. I can't wait to try it. Lexie also has a coconut yogurt recipe too!

ReplyDeleteI have tried the so delisious brand and it is pretty good. I use the plain for dips and it subs nicely. I hear making yogurt is fun and easy. I plan on making some for Cole with my milk :)
