I say Thumbs Up for Nickmom

As I was surfing the TV channels the other night which is a rare occasion!  I stumbled upon Nick Jr. at night turning to Nickmom.  They had mom comedians & then after that was a Brady Bunch episode done in the old school style VH1 Pop-up Video.  It was super funny!  I had my glass of wine in hand and enjoyed a program that was amusing, relatable & worth watching.

I decided to look it up online since this program was new to me.  It seems that there are a lot of moms who do not approve of this programming.  Why not?  is my question.  It is aired at night time when kids should be in bed.  Are mothers upset because they can't plop their kids in front of the TV 24/7?  I think it is a great strategy to get mom viewers.  I really enjoyed it!

I am not much of a TV watcher.  I do LOVE movies though!  TV programming is just so disappointing.  You can scan hundreds of channels and not find one interesting thing.  I do like the travel channel and food network though but even that gets a little boring.

I think you should all check out Nickmom and tell me your thoughts!  Here's a little tidbit video for ya:

    1. I did enough research to write my own opinion! Although, I didn't read about the time zone problem. That would be a problem if I lived in Hawaii. But, I don't. I like the program. And I will watch it and laugh! Maybe the cable company in other time zones can do something about it. And as far as my comment, it was meant to be facetious. So, it shouldn't be such a trigger for you if it is a false statement!! There is WAY too much energy being put out there about Nickmom. It was funny. I thought that I would write about it. If it isn't supported, then it will tank. OH well! I really don't care either way.

  2. While I personally find nick mom to be degrading to parents and kids as I don't need to "Smile and act like I am not dying inside"...It has no place on a children's channel...it needs to be moved...My daughter has a hard time falling asleep for personal reasons without being scared and the cartoons help to make her feel comfortable when everything else fails but nick mom is in no way shape of form ok for a children's channel...PLAN AND SIMPLE IF YOU WOULDN'T LET YOU KIDS WATCH NICKMOM IT SHOULDN'T BE ON A 24/7 CHILDREN'S CHANNEL...

    1. Well, I think it is funny! I don't need a 24 hour kids' show at my house. I don't feel like a failure as a parent in any way. I feel like a real one who can laugh at all the crazy stuff that it brings in my life! Come on. Lighten Up. It's not degrading. It's called humor!

  3. AND I HAVE WATCHED NICKMOM AND HAVE YET TO FIND IT CUTE OR FUNNY...JUST VERY INAPPROPRIATE AND SAD IF THAT'S HOW ANY PARENT FEELS...MAYBE THOSE PARENTS WHO AGREE WITH THE THINGS NICKMOM SAYS SHOULDN'T HAVE KIDS

    1. Your comment is not very funny! It's way more inappropriate than jokes that are actually funny on Nickmom.

  4. So, I am guessing that you guys don't find Tosh.0 very funny? I think he is awesome. And yes, I am still a great mom!

  5. I find Nickmom to put me at ease and make me feel better about all the struggles that parents go through in raising kids. It doesn't mean I don't enjoy parenthood or enjoy my children if I laugh at something I can relate to. And yes, I think Tosh.o is hilarious. Having a sense of humor is one of the many blessings I have to enjoy my life as a parent.

  6. I haven't seen it but I will tell ya, if you like it Krista, I bet it is great. You ARE a great mother, one who recognizes that no one is perfect and that sometimes humor makes it all feel a little better. Sometimes when people are trying to hard to be perfect, they get a little uptight. Life is harder for some people to laugh at than others, and I guess those mothers who are struggling and needing something (or someone, or some station) to lash out at, might need a smile and a little support. To the mothers who are struggling with Nick Mom, I hope you find what helps you as a parent be happy. I know being a mom can be hard, and I am sure you are great mothers too, just ones who have a more sensitive situation or less of a sense of humor. We are all doing the best we can.
