I came across this poem today and thought it was just lovely. I have a little thing for bluebirds if you didn't already know. It is my reminder!
"Hope" is the thing with feathers
"Hope" is the thing with feathers—
That perches in the soul—
And sings the tune without the words—
And never stops—at all—
And sweetest—in the Gale—is heard—
And sore must be the storm—
That could abash the little Bird
That kept so many warm—
I've heard it in the chillest land—
And on the strangest Sea—
Yet, never, in Extremity,
It asked a crumb—of Me.
Emily Dickinson
When I see a bluebird, it reminds me that my life is exactly where it should be. Everything is as it should be. My cup overflows with love and the Universe & God & I are in complete alignment. This is what a bluebird means to me.
I want to get a tattoo of one but I haven't completely decided on the specifics as of yet. Maybe one day I will decide. But, I kind of like just finding my bluebirds. They show up in the darnest places :)
What is your 'bluebird'?
I don't really have something like that. Although, I have found I have music that follows me around and pops up at the most appropriate times to remind me of people, feelings or wonder when I most need it. Certian songs just do it for me and seem to be there without my prompting.
ReplyDeleteSongs and smells always just bring you back. You should pick a reminder that your cup is overflowing. Make it something random and special to you. Here are some examples of ones that some of my other friends have: lavender, feathers, the word 'grace', a bright gleam of light.
