Happy New Year's everyone! I can't wait to get started on 2013. It's a whole new start for me with a new business venture that I will share with you all later once I get through the financial & legal hurdles. I also am taking a step back from my catering & purse business and focusing on family, things that interest me and my new business.
I also have two new things that I started today that I want to share with all of you! I am a big fan of the Belly Fat Cure diet plan by Jorge Cruise and I just wrote about it recently on the San Juan Parent website. Read it HERE. It also included my food diary for two weeks! Well, it's that time of year again to cleanse my diet from all the Holiday Cheers (so to speak).
1) This year I am going to go one step further and keep my food diary more legit at MyFoodDiary.com. I used this site after I had my first child. I gained 60 lbs. with that pregnancy and I had a very difficult time getting the weight off. After logging in all my intake into the site and my measurements it didn't take long to see where my trouble spots were. I really liked being able quantitatively see my progress. I am going to do the same again not because I have a lot of weight to lose but just to see my results on a chart. It is a little more motivating to me. I guess it's the science geek in me shining through! I will share with all of you my results.
2) I also want to start on a new face wash regimen. I am almost 35 years old and am so tired of having breakouts! I have read about cleaning your face with oil. Read about it HERE. It sounds very intriguing and easy. Every article and blog that I read about it sings it's praises as well. There are all kinds of different ways to make it and all the people also say that you can keep tweaking your formula based on your skin type and the seasons. I have a pretty balanced skin type so I am going to make mine like this at first :
My Personal Blend
20% Castor Oil
80% Sunflower Oil
Then, all you do is wash your face with just a warm washcloth in the morning. At night you massage in the oil really good to let it dissolve the dirt, oil and makeup on your face. Then use your warm washcloth to steam and gently wash away the impurities. That's all you have to do!! If you feel that you might need a little extra moisturizer in the winter then rub some coconut oil into your skin. There is a ton of info out there on the web - Oil Cleansing Method. I can't wait to get started and tell you about my results!
In addition to oil cleansing, I've read several recommendations to use the Norwex cleansing cloths instead of a regular washcloth. They are silver infused and anti-microbial.
ReplyDeleteThanks Paula. Yes, I love Norwex but I have found that long term use still doesn't work great on me. It ends up being too drying esp. In CO. Let's see how this works!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to hear your review! Intrigued.
ReplyDeleteI also wanted to try the "oil" method, but I'm really nervous about it (something about adding more grease... :) ). If you don't mind, I'm just going to check back in with you first and let you be the Guinea pig! ;) What a service to humanity, I know! Thanks.
ReplyDeleteWell I am several weeks into it. I am on the fence right now about it. I have started the Purging. So most of my face has cleared up but my chin and nose are so awful! I am hoping that I will get thru this stage to all the wonderful reviews that I have read. The verdict is still out right now.
